Assignment 1 Watch the youtube video on the right. After watching discuss the following questions in pairs: - What do the diaries have in common? - Would you be able to do this kind of work as a child?
Assignment 3 Answer the following questions: 1. Mention in what kind of factory you think the boy works. 2. What season is it and why do you think that? 3. Is this boy an orphan? If so, how do you know that? 4. Why do you think the boy doesn’t cry as much as he used to? 5. What does the boy try to do to warm himself? 6. What do you think the boy looks like? 7. Why does the boy end the letter with ‘’I consider myself a slave’’? 8. Underline the verbs in the text. What do most of them have in common?

Assignment 5 After answering the questions above, respond to the page from the journal. Imagine yourself working in a factory. Write your own Journal page. What needs to be included in the journal page is the following: - The person’s working day - Explaining his or her reasons for working - Feelings about the job - Use at least 5 or more words from the previous assignment - It needs to be between 100-125 words. - It needs to in the same tense as the example.
